The funniest thing happened this spring. Well not so funny really when I think of all the damage that was very nearly done to my garden, but on June 10th, it snowed. Yes, June 10th. Just when we had thought perhaps winter was truly over...but no. And outside my front door I captured this pretty black iris almost ready to open and topped with a snowy cap. The iris did bloom a few days later, so all was not lost. :)
